ATTEMPT TO PASS FAKE BILL - 2020-000301On January 8, 2020, this unidentified suspect went into Regal Cinema in Moline and attempted to pass a fake $100 bill. The clerk became suspicious as the paper did not feel right and it failed the pen test. Next door at Walmart, the suspect attempted to purchase a gift card with a $100 bill. The cashier noticed the bill was counterfeit due to the feel of the paper. After being confronted, the suspect ran to a white, Honda passenger car, which was parked at Chick Fil A and left eastbound on John Deere Road. FAKE BILLS PASSED AT REGAL CINEMA - 2019-014333On November 30th, two females walked in to Regal Cinemas in Moline. One purchased concessions with a $100 bill and received her change. She then left the theater. The second female bought a movie ticket with a $100 bill, receiving her change. She then left the theater. Both 100 dollar bills were later discovered to be counterfeit. 7-11 ROBBED AT GUNPOINT 2019-014689Moline Police were called to 7-11, 4720 27th Street, Moline at about 1:00 AM on December 9th on report an Armed Robbery had just occurred. The male suspect entered and approached the counter, pulling a grocery sack from his waistband. The clerk saw the barrel of a gun pointed at her. He demanded all the money but the clerk told him there wasn’t any in the register. The suspect then ran out of the store. He is described as being Hispanic, 17-21 years old, about 6’ tall with a medium build. The suspect was wearing a gray Adidas brand jacket, black Nike brand sweatpants, black Nike brand gloves, black and white shoes, and a flat bill Pittsburgh Pirates baseball cap. He also had a black cloth covering his mouth and nose. It was learned the same suspect had been in the store earlier in the evening wearing different clothing. He did not have his face covered at that time. GARAGE FIRE IN PORT BYRON IS ARSON - 2019-008850On September 6, 2019, Rock Island County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to 308 North High Street Port Byron Illinois, in reference to a fire. RASH OF STORAGE UNIT BREAK-INS REPORTED IN ANDALUSIA IL - 2019-010032Between October 9th 2019 and October 23rd, 2019, numerous storage unit burglaries occurred in Andalusia, Illinois. POLICE NEED HELP ON COLD ROBBERY/ARSON - 2017-011239On November 11th, 2017, Moline Police responded to a report of an armed robbery in the 3600-block 25th Street. The victim reported that unknown assailants struck him with a firearm and discharged it towards him during the incident. The assailants stole the victim's 2005 Volvo XC90 and fled the area prior to the arrival of officers. On November 14th, 2017, the Volvo was located, fully engulfed in flames in the 1100 block of 15th Street A, Moline. Moline Fire Department determined the vehicle had been intentionally set on fire utilizing a Molotov cocktail type device. CHURCHES VANDALIZED IN BUFFALODuring the early morning hours of Saturday October 19, 2019, St. Peter's Catholic Church and Calvary Lutheran Church in Buffalo Iowa were hit by vandals. The suspects broke a window of St. Peters and entered the church. At Calvary the suspects kicked a door in to gain entry. Not much was taken but the suspects caused destruction inside the churches. Artifacts were broken, things were thrown around and fire extinguishers were sprayed everywhere. Total damage is estimated to be around 30,000-40,000 dollars. Both churches have small memberships and the clean- up will probably have to be completed by the parishioners. What a senseless crime! The Bettendorf Police Department is actively seeking the public’s assistance with residential burglaries that occurred in the early morning hours on October 24, 2019. On Thursday October 24, 2019 during the morning hours officers were dispatched to 5 residences located in the Deerbrook edition in regards to burglaries or attempted burglaries. At this point it appears that 3 residences were entered where items were taken in the 3600blk of Deerbrook Drive, the 3700blk of Deerbrook Drive, and the 3800blk of Brookwood Lane. Also it appears that 2 attempted burglaries occurred in the 1400blk of Antler Ct. and the 1400blk of White Tail Drive but no entry was made. These all occurred when the residents were present in their homes sleeping. It was only after they had woke up and came downstairs in the morning did they discover and realize that something had occurred. Entry was gained through ground level windows that were not secured or latched and/or slightly ajar making it obvious they were not secured. In these cases if there was a screen the screen was either cut or removed. Bettendorf Police want to remind residents to secure all your doors, garage doors, and windows to your residence along with locking your vehicles. CLOWN ROBS QC MART - 2019-012024Moline Police are seeking information concerning a robbery that occurred on October 2nd at Quick Mart, 5211 44th Avenue Drive, Moline. A subject came inside wearing a clown mask, black pants, and a white hooded sweatshirt. He demanded money and reached over the counter and removed the bills from the register. He did not wear gloves, so the clerk could see that the suspect was a male, black. He left the area on foot. AGGRAVATED BATTERY AT CIRCLE K - 2019-004797The East Moline Police Department is seeking assistance identifying two people involved in an Aggravated Battery at Circle K on October 6th. SUSPECT EXPOSED HIMSELF AT MOLINE LIBRARY - 2019-010052On August 16, 2019, this subject exposed himself to a female who was taking a test while on the second floor at the Moline Public Library. He said to the victim, “Look at it. Just look at it.” The suspect is described as being in his twenties, under 6’ tall, with braids in his hair. He was wearing camouflage pants that looked like capris, a navy blue crew sweatshirt with the word “Illinois” or “Illini” on it, and turquoise colored socks.
