During the overnight hours of Monday, March 20th into Tuesday, March 21st, 2023, an unknown male, white, suspect driving the pictured vehicle, possibly a silver Kia Forte, stole tools from a construction site at Miss Mamie’s Restaurant, 3925 16th Street, Moline. The suspect forced his way into the building and stole Dewalt power tools and batteries valued at about $1,000. A threader worth over $2,000 was also taken. The suspect loaded the tools into a wheelbarrow and took them to his vehicle, where he loaded them and left the area. April 29th is the 8-year anniversary of the suspicious death of Sam Davis. On that day in 2015, he was found deceased in the river along the bike path in Rock Island. Rock Island Police don’t know exactly how Sam died, but his bike was found in the river near his body. Investigators believe he was going to meet someone near the area where his body was located. On January 17, 2023, these two females entered Walgreens (555 19th Avenue, Moline) and walked out with $2,600 worth of perfume. They used a key to open the locked display case and removed 34 bottles. They left the area in a black hatchback sedan (possibly a Toyota Rav 4). The first suspect to enter was wearing a black jacket, white undershirt, grey leggings, white tennis shoes, and a white facemask. The second suspect was wearing a black jacket, black pants, black shoes, a black hat, and a white facemask. A Walgreens in Rock Island was the victim of a similar theft. On March 21, 2023, Walcott Police responded to a report of a burglary to a storage unit that occurred about 7:30 am. Two suspects were caught on surveillance camera. The male suspect walked along the row of storage units trying a key until he found a lock that it worked on. Once the male gained access to the rental unit, he took approximately $500 worth of Hot Wheels and Matchbox collectable cars and put them into the vehicle where a female was sitting in the driver seat. The vehicle is believed to be a 2006-2012 Toyota Corolla, which was reported to be green but appears in the photo to be blue. On February 25th, 2023, at approximately 12:30 am, Moline Police officers responded to a report of an Aggravated Battery that had just occurred at a bar in downtown Moline. The pictured suspect grabbed the female victim by her hair and pulled out a handful. The suspect then grabbed a glass beer bottle and threw it at the male victim, cutting his eye area and breaking his glasses. On February 11, 2023 at 7:53 p.m. the Davenport Fire Department was dispatched to the Ground Transportation Center located at 304 W. River Drive for an outside fire next to the building. Fire crews arrived on scene and found a sprinkler head activated on the outside of the building and a plastic trash can was completely consumed by fire and smoldering. The video shows a white male wearing blue jeans, dark jacket and a blue bucket hat walk over to the trash can and set it on fire. The two windows directly above it were broken due to the heat. If it was not for the sprinkler system, the fire would have extended into the building. Davenport Fire Department is currently looking for help to identify the individual who is responsible for lighting the fire. At that time, the lot was full of people patronizing the store and a mobile taco stand that was set up in the parking lot. Two subjects were walking across the parking lot when it appears another subject that was either standing outside a vehicle or sitting in it fires a shot at them. They both then proceeded to draw weapons of their own and return fire. Two subjects were struck and later arrived at Unity Point for treatment of bullet wounds. The person of interest appears to be a male white with about shoulder length shaggy hair, approximately 5'9 - 6'0 in height, 180lbs - 200lbs. On July 10, 2022 at about 7:00 am, Rock Island Police officers responded to the area of 12th Street and 10th Avenue on report of a male laying on the sidewalk. They discovered that victim Amani Kamata was deceased from gunshot wounds to his chest. Investigation revealed he was shot at around 11:30 pm on July 9th. Amani and his family migrated to the United States for a better life. His opportunity was cut short and his family deserves justice. After the fire was extinguished, the fire department found a plastic bottle on the rear seat that smelled like gas. Three male suspects, all wearing dark clothing, were captured on surveillance video. One of them is seen throwing an object through the front driver side window.
